“My approach is to identify a responsive area through visits to different cities/villages in the community in order to get to know the people. The field report acts as a guide to action. Then, beginning with literature distribution (usually the field report determines the best strategy I use) film show, open-air talks, music festival, etc. While involved in these pre-evangelistic activities, I keenly watch the reactions of the people to the Gospel message. These activities give a clue to the willingness of the people for the gospel. The people will express their response in different ways, and I am able to discern the minds and hearts of the people with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The degree of responsiveness may vary from one people group to another, but still there are signs and clues by which I am able to determine the reception or resistant to the Gospel by the people.
Plans for first public meeting are arranged. This does not follow a specific pattern; it is done based on the information gathered at the field trip–fact-finding trip. There are many strategies I use at pre-evangelism stage to attract people and win their confidence and trust (as the Lord affords the opportunity) which cannot be written as the main strategy without having done a field trip at a targeted community or among specific people group. Then comes the presentation of the gospel after a few pre-evangelism projects are undertaken.
I present the gospel in simple terms on a level appropriate for the local people. The Gospel message is presented forth-right and plainly, in order to awaken the minds of the people to think and to decide. My approach is not wordy, but straight to the point. My simple, direct testimony of the Scripture set home by the power of Holy Spirit, brings weight of convictions few are able wholly to resist. I present my points, and allow the people to make their own judgments and draw their own conclusions, pray for the sick, and other special needs as inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the power of the gospel in manifesting, causes the people to make their own judgments.”
