Come...join us in a new song of "Peace and Love".

Everything you read at TCSB will be backed up by scripture. Topics are short and to the point, and anyone can contribute and/or offer feed-back.  The TCSB approach is not "wordy" but straight to the point.  We aim to get to the point, quickly and concisely.  We have a new song to sing Isaiah ch42 v10:13

It seems in this 21st century melting pot, that nobody has time anymore.  No time for anyone else.  No time for God.  Free Spirit Christians (Psalm 51 v12 KJV) look to give that time to others and most importantly God. If we don't take time to ask God to create time for ourselves, how can we have time for others?...It's vicious circle.  So start with giving time to God, and the rest will fall into place. TCSB has come together, in faith, to help "deliver the message quickly and concisely".

TCSB fully utilizing the power and glory of God endeavor to support Christian teaching as and where we can. Our first commitment has been in Jamasi, Ghana, W. Africa. With little funds at our disposal we do rely heavily on the power of prayer. ...more

The Goals of our mission are:

To spread the Word of God, through Worship, fellowship, keeping of the commandments and enlightenment through scripture.

The issue is to understand what Christianity is... A personal relationship with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. To be empowered with the Holy Spirit to bring us peace, love and understanding. An understanding that God is not about buildings and wood & stone, but to realize that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us and all around us... the two greatest commandments are key within TCSB. Matthew ch22 v35:4035One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” ...more

To clarify & simplify God's call for faith, hope and love (charity) in abundance.

Jesus tells us that we are to have Faith, Hope & Love, so why is this lacking in the 21st Centaury.  Why are we lost?  Are these commandments to difficult to keep? Is it too late?  Why are we so selfish? Y is society so dark? 1 1 Corinthians ch13 v13  13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. To promote solid Christian family values as commanded

The family "unit" as it is portrayed in the Western world is under enormous pressure and it's failure will bring the collapse of nations. Social values are in a spiral of decline and are a major concern to Christian worldwide. So let's try to address some of these issues and offer support where we can. Commitment to the covenant of marriage is a major concern of TCSB and marriage guidance councilors and help is needed...Globally. Quick reference to what God wants of us:

Some simple prayer guide lines for those that need help...

Communal worship and praise of Our Lord and Savior is so important. Christians know the power of prayer and the enormous power that it can bring into your life and those for who you pray.

What follows is not a "preaching" to a confirmed Christian, or something I consider my self to be an expert on, but I do know that what follows helped me in becoming a Christian, and maybe useful in helping a new Christian to get started.

Jesus teaches us to pray and to keep it simple...

Prayer

5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9"This, then, is how you should pray:
   " 'Our Father in heaven,
   hallowed be your name,
    10your kingdom come,
   your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
    12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.[1] ' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

For personal prayer lets take a look at what the Our Father means...here is my interpretation and how it "spiritually sets me up for the day"...

Although Jesus said that we should be consistent in the sharing of the Word, there are differing versions of the Our Father. The above is just another, but the theme is still consistent.

'Our Father in heaven,
   hallowed be your name ...
here we recognize God and praise his greatness. God wants to be praised and He deserves it. Generally we don't praise God enough.

your kingdom come,
   your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
... next we acknowledge the Kingdom of Heaven and that WE will do act out the will of god on earth. The "Kingdom of Heaven is within us and all around us"...now, but we are usually in darkness and cannot see it. Try to open your eyes and see the light.

Give us today our daily bread. ... It is hard to appreciate that God will provide our daily needs, but this a call on our faith. The birds and the bees do not worry about their daily needs, God provides, this is a simple analogy which can be applied, but difficult to rely on our faith that God will provide for us, yet this is a burden that we can lay at the feet of our Lord.

Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
... This is our chance to have our sins forgiven and that I forgive those that have sinned against me (For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ).

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. ...
A very important phrase. As we know so the 21st Century is full of temptation and evil. The darkness of the WORLD and FLESH is powerful and is probably the toughest part of being a Christian today. We need God's help and this is where we ask him for his help and protection.

The KJ version which I use includes:

For thin is the Kingdom, the power and glory for ever. ... Here we re-confirm our belief in the Kingdom of Heaven and God's power and glory that reigns for all time, for our sakes.

Amen. ... A simple way of saying "Yes, I believe, praise the Lord"

The Our Father is a prayer for our personal salvation and confirmation of our faith and commitment to God and being a Christian. This is your prayer to our Lord.

If you ask most Christians there is not a fixed format for praying for others, as each individual subject of the prayer in question. However the following guidelines can be considered, everyone is different and there are no rules:

The Start:
Call on God using phrases such Oh God Almighty, Heavenly Father, Lord of Lords, King of Kings...hear my prayer.

Middle:
Verbally describe your prayer request, go into detail if you wish. Confirm your faith in God that he will help. Consider asking for cleansing with water by the Holy Spirit and anointing with the blood of Jesus Christ.

End:
We can only reach God through "Jesus Christ our savior" so confirm that you ask this of God in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

When you pray for others you are blessed. Take every blessing you can, so pray for others often, but do not forget to pray for yourself and for forgiveness DAILY.

Get yourself right with God and He will get it right with You! He loves you unconditionally and wants to hear from You.

I hope this introduction to Prayer helps You and others like you. Christianity is not about a bunch of old rules, but the Bible does give us a "Corner Stone" to build a loving and fruitful life...In the light. One of the aims of TCSB and FREE Spirit Christians is to try and keep it simple. K.I.S.S....Keep It Simple but Special. Christianlty is a special and personal relationship between You and The Trinity.

You can do it!

The 2 Greatest Commanments ...

First lets take a quick look at the Ten Commandments, bearing in mind that the Bible is a compilation of 1,000's of comandments.

1. "You shall have no other gods besides Me."

2. "You shall not make for yourself an idol."

3. "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.”

4. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

5. "Honor your father and your mother.”

6. "You shall not murder.”

7. "You shall not commit adultery."

8. "You shall not steal."

9. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

10. "You shall not covet.”

Besides the ten Jesus gave a new commandment and tells us that the greatest is:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mathew ch22 v37:40

Now what does this tell us as a Christian?

It tell's us that Love is very important.

Love God

Love Yourself

Love Your neighbor.

This is "Key" in Christianity, that's why Jesus said these are the "GREATEST"...not just worth considering, but the GREATEST.

To love everyone as God loves You is a tall order. However, if you can do this you will have peace and grace in abundance. It's tough, but the rewards are great if you can succeed. We cover more on love in our section "To understand God's love for us and how we can love others in His name"

So what does this tell us if we are slanderous or ill tempered towards a fellow man?...it tells us we are not pleasing God, and no excuses. You see God is the ONLY judge. We should focus on our own weaknesses and sin and let God look after those that may try to harm us. Pray for your enemies.

Food for thought: If everybody honoured the 2 greatest commandments, what sort of world would we live in today? My guess would be, "very different".

So lets think about this a moment. "If you kept these 2 commandments do you think that you would break the others?...I don't think so.

If you love God, would you break commandments 1 - 4?

If you love you neighbor as your self, would you break commnadments 5 - 10?

You see the words of Jesus in Mathew ch22 v37:40, Jesus simplifies the age old set of rules, the Ten Commandments and He makes it easy for us. These words are "key" in Christian beliefs and must be adheired to. That's why it is important to have fellowship. With fellowship you will see the glory within your fellow Christians and will receive spiritual food by the grace of God, through your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Fellowship will save you from spiritual starvation and darkness, bring your *love to the surface.

1 Corinthians ch13 v4:10

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

*Charity means "love thy fellowman" in latin.

back

Faith, Hope and Love (*Charity)...

1 Corinthians ch13 v13

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 John ch2 v10

10Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him[3] to make him stumble.

Simple. These are simple examples of commandments, again laid down by Jesus as God on earth in man's form.

Faith:
Jesus says have faith...he instructs us to trust and believe in him. He doesn't say go away and try to work it out for yourself. Should we have "blind faith?". Make up your own mind ...

1 Thessalonians ch5 v1:3
1Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

He will come like a thief in the night...We are in the time of Tribulation, there is no doubt, and if you aren't on board but live a life of "questioning and doubting", it just might be to late for you. However, God has given man the freedom of choice. It is up to You. As Jesus said quite often to his Apostles"Oh Ye of little faith", probably one of the best known sayings in the bible.

Jesus realized that the man of the flesh could not have "blind faith", because of God's promise of free will to all men. So Jesus (God on earth in the form of man), performed many miracles, probably the two best known of turning water into wine and the feeding of the 5,000. These acts were not performed in a secret place, but in front of many many people. They are well documented and form an important part of "The Truth"

Hope:

1 John 3:3
Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

Job ch11 v17:19
17 Life will be brighter than noonday,
and darkness will become like morning.
18 You will be secure, because there is hope;
you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
19 You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,
and many will court your favor.

Psalm 37 v8:9
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret-it leads only to evil.
9 For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

2 Thessalonians 2
15So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings[1] we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
16May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Hope is mentioned many times throughout the bible in both the New and Old Testaments, but it's connotations are varied. "Hope" sites along side "trust". As 1 John 3:3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

Our hope/trust in God confirms our commitment as a child of God. By putting the trust in god that he will deliver purifies our heart and removes anguish and impatience. God will deliver in his time and not yours. Let God know what your heart wants. Talk to him through prayer. Hope also brings an inner peace, that our salvation is in the hands of God and nobody can take that away from you.

Love (Charity):

Love goes back to the two greatest commandments as spoken about in our section on The 2 Greatest Commandments and Agape Love . But what is also interesting is that the KJ version of the bible says "Charity" instead of "love". But our normal interpretation of charity is not love, but by looking at the latin translation of charity we see that it means *"love thy fellowman". Again Christ emphasizes the fact that the most important aspect of Christianity is LOVE.

back

Family Values ...

The family is a covenant from God. God created Adam, man in God's image and reflection. God then realized that man should not be alone and needed a companion, so he created Eve. Thus Adam had a *wife. As with Adam, Christian men are expected to have a wife.

Unfortunately today we see a very different picture unfolding. In general, we have disregarded the basic rules of family life. Love for worldly things and temptations of the flesh are bringing society to it's knees. The lack of social morality is destroying "The Family". A good Christian home is now far and few between and when found is something to nurture and treasure, for love and peace will be in abundance.

God gave us some simple basic rules ...

Ephesians ch5 v21:25

21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives and Husbands

22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

Colossians 3

Rules for Christian Households

18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

So many may think that these are dangerous words in the 21st Century, however, these commandments are at the core of a Christian family. Where does God tell us that things can be any different? Just because it is the 21st Century. Do we have the right to disregard them? Do we turn our back on the word of God when it suits us?

It all started here...

Genesis ch2 v19:24

19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
But for Adam [8] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [9] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [10] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,

"This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman, [11] '
for she was taken out of man."

24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

Let us take a look at a few questions...

Why is the divorce rate so high, especially in the UK and America?
(is it because temptation is so rife?)

Why are there so many single parent families?
(is it because there should be marriage guidance before getting married?)

Why are so many of our children unaware of Christian values?
(is it a lack of teaching in schools as well as the home?)

Is it the temptations of worldly goods and lack that is upsetting the equilibrium?
(how many times a day are you tempted or see something un-Godly)

Is it the "instant society" putting financial pressure to bear, so that mothers have to go out to work and no longer focus on the family?
(how many families do you know in this position?)

Is it "TV programme pressure", that distorts "real life", so that it seems reality to young people?
(how many so called TV reality shows do you know that distort life?..in "prime time TV slots)

Is it the lack of teaching and understanding of moral values in our schools?
(are our schools just teaching a spread of different religious beliefs, so that one day our children can make their own minds up?)

What effect does television, advertising, immoral entertainment and pier pressure have on our social structure?
(Western TV has reached new depths. Are we policing exactly what our children are watching...What are WE watching?) ... please email info@tcsb.org with your comments.

Why don't families sit down together for meals and talk?
(with all the modern day gadgets there seems to be no time. Is it just laziness?)

Why don't people have time for one another anymore?
(in general society just doesn't seem to be bothered about anyone else. What happened to Love thy neighbor as thy self?)

Why don't people care about keeping the "family unit" together?
(is there a general apathy and non-commitment to one another?...every person for themselves?)

Why is the attitude of man being the hunter/provider and the woman being the home maker considered to be male chauvinistic?
(financial pressure may be the key element here. The want for instant Worldly goods and easy access to credit are pulling down social values and leading to foolish debt, causing both parties to work, thus weakening the family foundation)

These are questions that we may all ask at one time or another. Please take some time to think about these issues, because as Christians we need to address them and make sure that they do not impact on our lives and that of our families. If we can't deal with questions like these and have the answers, then we will not fulfil our duty in the eyes of God.

We have a duty under the covenant of marriage to ask God for wisdom and understanding to deal with these issues in our own lives, and I'm sure that there are many more. Some say that "The world today is just the same as it was 2,000 years ago, and that people had the same sort of problems.

Did they?

What do you think?

The important thing is that we place our trust in the hands of God. To only judge ourselves and how we personally deal with these important social issues and how our personal view of what a Christian family is. God has not given us the right to judge others, so treat yourself to some quality time and assess if you are right with God in this arena. Are you faultless? Your Christian beliefs are based around your personal relationship with God and the Trinity, so it is your responsibility to respect Gods' covenants. Only he will judge you for your efforts.

The "Family" and your role within it is important. Every nation that has "become immorally twisted" has collapsed. Society is built around the family.

You can take assurance that the underlying problem is Satan. There is absolutely no doubt in this. The breakdown of family values and the temptations that surround us every minute of the day are evil. Assess your life.

We need to get right with God, not only in our hearts, but in our families and in our homes. Nobody at TCSB suggests that being a Christian is easy in the 21st Century. It is not. God never said it would be easy. After all Jesus said...

Matthew 19:24
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Although this is ridiculous and implies a rich man cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven, this saying is typical "exaggeration of Jewish story telling". In this context "rich" can mean many things. You may have spiritual richness in everything that you do, but ignore the importance of your family commitment, or perhaps ignore the plight of others close to you which you may be able to help. God does not give us much margin for error, but that is also why Jesus died on the cross for us. So that we can seek forgiveness at anytime.

If we do not follow Gods' commandments, then how will our children be able to pass these fundamental rules of family values on to their children? These values are NOT taught in school. They are taught in the home. Christians must take responsibility for this teaching.

If you realize the importance of this section and need help, then please talk to your Pastor or email TCSB at children@tcsb.org and we will try to help. The family element is a key issue @ TCSB.

*The divine covenant of marriage is between a man and a women. It is not a man and a man, nor indeed a woman and woman. If you are confused about this issue and need help, then please talk to your Pastor or email TCSB at info@tcsb.org
