CHRISTIANITY VS. DENOMINATIONS...

All people, who believe in God and in Jesus Christ’s birth, death and resurrection, and those who accept Him as their savior, have one common name and “religion” all over the world. We are Christians. We are Christians in the Bible and declared and proclaimed by everyone all around the world as Christians. We are not labeled all over the world as Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, or any other denominational name. We are Christians.

Men made denominations, not God. Truly, by disagreeing with this practice or that practice within the original church, groups broke or came away from the church and started their own churches and calling themselves by different denominational names. It is my firm belief that denominations are wrong. We are all Christians. One group of people throughout the entire world, not separated by color, speech or geographical location. We are united because we belong to the family of God. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

I attend church at a “Baptist” church. I do not believe that I am a Baptist. Rather, I am one of many Christians and my faith is Christianity. Many denominations quarrel and fight between themselves due to one denomination or church believing something that another denomination or church does not. These quarrels and arguments hurt the real church, the people, and hurts God’s family as well.

We bring hard feelings by arguing points for the sake of saying this one denomination is right or this one over here is wrong. Rather, we should all be willing to say that we want the church as whole to grow. We must realize that we are part of something “together” that is bigger than the denominations we claim we belong to, it is bigger than any of us, because it is God’s family. A denomination can not truly break that up.

I, at the time I became saved, became to belong to God, not a denomination. My prayer would be that Christians come to see their common beliefs, wants and goals. All Christians have or should have several common beliefs, wants and goals.

COMMON BELIEFS WANTS AND GOALS FOR CHRISTIANS

Just an example of the types of beliefs all Christians share or should share below:

1. God is the one and only true God, who created the world, all things in it and around it. i.e. the heavens, stars, planets and galaxies surrounding earth.

2. God came to earth as man, Jesus Christ, God’s son, was born a man and His mother Mary was a virgin.

3. Jesus Christ lived as a man. He was and remains to be the only perfect man, who has ever lived on earth.

4. Jesus Christ died for all people to be saved and reconciled to God in order to live even after the death of the physical body, for all eternity.

5. Three days after Jesus Christ’s death, He was resurrected and lived again.

6. Jesus Christ is alive today and will return to earth again in the future and rule for 1000 years and then forever and ever, because the world is a world without end.

Examples of Goals and Wants we Christians share or should share:

1. To allow God to work through us in order to reach others for Him.

2. To worship God

3. To praise God

4. To do God’s will

5. To pray for others in their time of need and to help others

6. To teach others of God’s living word, the Bible

7. To bring others to know God as their Father and to know Jesus Christ, His son, as their Lord and Savior

8. To stand up for our beliefs in God and in Jesus Christ, no matter the consequences

9. To shape our lives in such a way that we glorify God

10. To show love, forgiveness, grace, and compassion to others as God, through His son, Jesus Christ, has shown these things to us

11. To strengthen and encourage other Christians in times of doubt and need

12. To rely solely on God for all things, i.e.: clothing, homes, food, work, money, etc

Some things we, as Christians, must do in order to reach others and bring them to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior:

1. We must strive to live in a way that will glorify God.

2. Show love, compassion, understanding, and other gentle aspects of God, such as grace, to others.

3. We must place God first in our lives and follow a God first, family second, and career/other things third type of priority outline in our lives every single day.

4. We have to be willing to share Jesus Christ with others when the opportunity arises no matter where or when. Whether it be at work, home, play, anywhere.

5. To be able to show our faith to others by trusting in God to handle all our problems and troubles without worry or fear once we have turned it over to God.

God gave us all the tools needed in order to win others to Christ by using the Bible and talking to other Christians in order to grow up spiritually. As we become more mature spiritually, we will trust more and have more faith in God. This will show in the way we act and treat others. It will also show in the way in which we handle our own problems, sorrows and troubles. It will also show in the way of understanding. We will be more able to set aside differences as to denominations and reach a level of love for all Christians.

Once we mature spiritually, race, denomination, and geographical location will no longer be an obstacle to over come in order to spread the love of Jesus Christ. God has room in His family for everyone in the world, no matter their past. Which means to me, God made each of us, loves us all the same and sent His son to die, for us all to have the chance to live an eternal life in His family. Black, white, red, yellow, none of this matters to God. None of this should matter to us as Christians either. We must love others the same way that God loves us.
