How You Can Get From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be

Let me ask you these most important questions: Where are you spiritually? Where are you physically? Where are you emotionally? Where are you financially? Where are you in your relationships with your friends and family?

If you are not where you want to be, I am here to tell you, you can be! God has a way for you to get from where you are to where you want to be.

You might be thinking, "Is that possible for me?" Yes, my friend, God has a way especially for you. Even when it seems impossible, God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

I want to share with you a message from God’s Holy Word that I believe will help you to know this is true in your life. In Mark 5:25-34 we read:

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole. Go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

I want you to have a graphic picture of this in your mind. See this frail little woman lying at home alone in her bed. Notice the hollow look in her eyes. For 12 long years she has had a hemorrhage of blood that will not cease. All of her money has been spent, and the physicians of her day have not been able to help her because medicine was of a primitive nature in those days.

The name of this woman is not known. I think it is because God would have you and me put our names where hers could have been, for her story is similar to that of many people today. Everything had been done in the natural realm for her healing, yet this was not enough. She was not where she wanted to be. She still had a need to come to Jesus.

When I say to you that God has a way for you to get to where you want to be, I know that as a fact; because the way I know is a Person —Jesus Christ. Jesus said of himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

You will never get to where you want to be with your life until you first commit yourself to this reality — Jesus is the Way.

Many years ago a young man and his wife felt the call of God to go to the mission fields of Africa. They gathered their possessions and boarded a steamship across the Atlantic. When they arrived on the African continent, a guide met them. His job was to take them by canoe up a narrow winding river to the mission station.

When the river ran out they began to carry their belongings through the jungle. The foliage became so dense and thick that the guide soon held his machete in his hand and began literally hacking the way through the jungle. After many days and weeks of traveling, exhaustion had set in and the dense foliage seemed to literally blot out the noonday sun until it was almost dark.

In a moment of panic the young man and woman screamed out, “How are we ever going to find our way?” And the guide turned, with his machete in his hand, and calmly said, “I am your way.”

Is there a jungle you are passing through in your life today? If so, do you have a guide who can provide the way to your destination?

The little woman with the issue of blood was certainly passing through a jungle in her life — in her physical needs, spiritual needs, emotional needs, family needs, and financial needs. She had arrived at the place where no light was getting through when, at that very moment, she heard that Jesus was passing by.
